While working as a Senior producer/director with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2013, I had the pleasure of working with Catalina Parks in a Spanish/English novella entitled Text 4 Baby. As a director you hope to work with actors who are prepared, professional and fun and that is exactly what Catalina is to a “T”. She was a joy to work with. She made my job so much easier. I mostly coached her rather than direct her. For a director that’s a godsend. Catalina always had her lines prepared which in the case of this production was double duty. We had to shoot each scene twice as it was in both Spanish and English. Her English was MUCH better than my Spanish and we had some glorious laughs about that! What impressed me the most was Catalina was always cognizant of where she was in the scene so if we had to re-shoot a sequence she was always in the right spot for the shot and had her lines ready to go. I never saw her without a smile on her face. Catalina Parks is the epitome of professional. Directors hope for a consummate actor such as Catalina and my hope was realized. I hope to have another chance to work with her in the very near future.
